You Bought Your Dress, Now What?

So you found your dream dress and officially became a #Swoonie, but…what’s next?

Well, waiting. The moment you say yes to your dress, it actually doesn’t exist yet in the world. We get in touch with the designer and place an order for the dress you chose in the size you chose in the color you chose, and then you get put in their queue. That part takes time—up to four months!

But, let’s talk about what happens when your dress has made its way to us and we’ve checked it over and everything is absolutely perfect.

First, you will get a call from us — we’re excited — we’ll let you know the fab news and figure out when to schedule your try-on appointment!

Your try on appointment can be as quick as you want. We tell our brides that they can bring guests if they’d like, although it’s usually a more condensed crowd than the deciding appointment.

Your consultant will have already pulled your dress and any accessories you ordered into your room and prepped them for you by unbagging and steaming it out. She’ll have you wash your hands and remove your shoes before you walk into the room (you’ll notice hers are off too) and there will be a nice, clean sheet covering the ground to protect your dress when you put it on.

It’s a really exciting moment to see yourself for the first time and usually brides don’t want to take their dresses back off! As you stand on the pedestal, you and your consultant will talk about alterations (for the millionth time) and address any questions or concerns you may have. You’ll begin to feel even more confident and excited about how your dress will become more perfect in the next few fittings!

If there were any accessories that you were thinking about adding to your ensemble that you didn’t initially commit to before, this appointment is a great time to nail down those last details — veil, sparkle, you name it. Your guests and consultant will help style you to perfection!

Once all the work has been done, you’ll have to change back into your street clothes (sad) and your consultant will show you her tricks for zipping your garment bag without snagging the dress (horribly sad). After all of that, she’ll meet you at the front counter where you’ll pay that final balance and she’ll walk you out!

Your dress is now in your hands and we are SO excited to swoon over you wearing it on your big day!
